Kris Nelson, PT, MPT, CHT
Kris is the Director and assumed ownership of the clinic in 2014. He brings more than a decade of experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting, and delivers personalized solutions to his patients. After earning his Master of Physical Therapy from the University Of North Dakota in 1999, Kris has honed a diverse set of physical therapy skills. He counts foot and ankle rehabilitation, including the fabrication of custom orthotics as well as sports specific rehabilitation as an area of special interest. He has extensive experience in general orthopedics with emphasis in manual therapy, knee and shoulder rehabilitation, and golf rehabilitation and performance enhancement. Kris utilizes his expertise in a multimodal treatment approach that has proved to be effective with his patients.
In 2015, Kris earned his Certified Hand Therapy (CHT) certification by the nationally recognized Hand Therapy Certification Commission. As a CHT, he specializes in treatment of the upper extremity and has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession. Through continuing education and training, Kris remains knowledgeable about preventive care, current surgical techniques, post-surgery therapy programs, and fabrication of custom upper extremity splints.
When Kris is not helping patients, he takes advantage of Sweetwater County’s beauty with activities such as hiking, camping, golf, and floating the Green River. Kris and his wife Stacey have two children, son Camden and daughter Brinley.
Jeff Alcorn, PT, DPT
Jeff has joined our team in 2015, after completing his doctorate in physical therapy. He was drawn to a career in physical therapy after seeing the need for skilled rehabilitation through his involvement in athletics and employment as a PT Tech during college. Jeff enjoys working with a wide array of patients including those recovering from sports injuries, surgery, and neurological conditions among others. He is passionate about working with patients to help them achieve their goals and return to their prior activities and hobbies, so they are able to live life to the fullest! Jeff has a special interest in sports medicine, manual therapy, and orthopedics, and hopes to specialize in these areas and more in the future.
Jeff earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from Chadron State College. He played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track at Chadron High School, in Nebraska, and continued playing football and basketball at Chadron State.
Jeff moved to Wyoming with his wife, who is a Green River native. Outside of work they continue to enjoy playing sports, doing various outdoor activities, attending sporting events, and traveling.
Dana Kreusel, PT, DPT
Dana has advanced training in functional manual therapy, which is a specialized, hands-on approach to physical therapy. As a manual therapist, Dana focuses on treating movement dysfunction through a variety of techniques including Strain-Counter Strain, Functional Mobilization, Muscle Energy, and Myofascial Release. These techniques are applicable to all forms of injuries and pain including post-surgical and sports related rehabilitation. Ensuring her patients achieve pain-free function is Dana’s primary focus.
Dana joined Summit in the fall of 2014. She was raised in Mountain View, and after practicing in Idaho for five years, is happy to return to her Wyoming roots. Dana earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Idaho State University. She began her professional career in an orthopedic outpatient clinic before transitioning to a clinic emphasizing a manual approach. Dana was responsible for opening and managing a new satellite clinic.
When she is not treating patients, Dana is a busy mom to a pre-school daughter and one-year old twins. She enjoys spending any available free time with family and friends, being outdoors, and playing volleyball.
Shelly Laws, Billing Specialist
Shelly plays a key role in the processing of patient claims with insurance companies and ensuring patients billing records accurately reflect the care they received from our therapists. She is always available to answer questions and apply payments. Shelly also supports the Green River clinic in a variety of ways, including insuring the inventory is fully stocked with braces, orthotics and a variety of therapy supplies.
Shelly, and her husband of nearly 25 years, Jeff , have four children. Tyler, Shelynn, Kaylee and Brenna have all been very active with school activities, which keeps the entire family busy. Shelly also enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors gardening, camping, hunting, horseback riding,archery and traveling.
