On October 20, 2023, our friend Rebecca McDaniel died in a car accident. For those of us here at Fremont Therapy Group, she was an amazing co-worker, friend and beloved clinician. Rebecca was a quiet leader and an inspiration to so many of us; words fail to capture how much we miss her presence.
She was an innovative clinician with a holistic approach. She had advanced training in Pain Neuroscience and Graded Motor Imagery (GMI). She was part of our Persistent Pain Team and was the resident expert with GMI and a leader in pain education, helping patients overcome and cope with chronic pain. She had specialized training in manual techniques, nutrition, women’s health and she especially loved her littlest pediatric friends and her oldest geriatric friends. She was known for delivering fearsome workouts with a pleasant smile! She approached every person she met with deep compassion and caring, knowing that many of us struggle with issues that impact our bodies ability to heal and function. Outside of work, she lived by the same principles: as a caring and involved member of her church community, a hard-working neighbor, an incredibly capable and self-reliant fixer of homes, vehicles and appliances, and most importantly, a devoted daughter and sister.
In her honor and memory, Fremont Therapy Group has established the Rebecca McDaniel Memorial Fund 501(c)3. This fund will award three $500 scholarships to Wyoming high school seniors who want to pursue a health sciences certification or degree. We hope to find one outstanding, future health care provider in each of the following counties: Sublette, Fremont and Sweetwater. Our intent is to award the first scholarships to members of the class of 2025.
In order to make this happen, we need your help. We are fundraising $6000 to ensure that we can award these scholarships for the next decade. Please consider a donation to honor Rebecca’s memory and help the next generation of Wyoming health care providers start their journey.
