5 reasons to love Rawlins, Wyoming

Founded on the Union Pacific Railroad line, Rawlins was historically a major passenger and freight station stop along the Transcontinental Railroad route. One of the most notable attractions in Rawlins is the Wyoming Frontier Prison. This historic state penitentiary housed some of the most notorious outlaws from 1901-1981, including Butch Cassidy and Big Nose George. Now a museum, the Wyoming Frontier Prison offers guided tours throughout the year and special ghost tours every October. Once you’re done learning about the Old Wild West, head to Rawlins’ award-winning downtown, where you will find ample boutique shopping, fine dining and Western artwork. For those looking for an outdoor escape, be sure to take the short drive to Seminoe State Park, where there is excellent fishing, camping, hiking and wildlife viewing.

4. Seminoe to Alcova Scenic Backway

The Seminoe-Alcova Backcountry Byway is 64 miles long between Sinclair on Interstate 80 and Alcova on Wyoming Highway 220. Driving time is around two hours traveling at a leisurely pace. The byway is a combination of paved and graveled roads and is generally passable from May to November. That said, the byway segment beginning just north of Seminoe State Park and running through the Seminoe Mountains to the Miracle Mile is very steep, and not recommended for motor homes or vehicles pulling trailers. There are no services along the byway until you reach Alcova, so make sure you have adequate fuel and a good spare tire. Take drinking water, food, and proper clothing–the weather can change suddenly.

About Fremont Therapy Group:

Fremont Therapy Group is a physical therapist-owned outpatient private practice with six locations in Wyoming - Riverton, Lander, Green River, Rock Springs, Rawlins, and Saratoga, with clinic directors in each area who are vested owners in the company. FTG teams consistently focus on the need to help our patients achieve excellent outcomes with dedicated one-on-one care.

Because Wyoming has some of the highest reimbursement rates in the country, we are not forced to increase the patient load to cover costs. We are proud to maintain our commitment to patient care with an optimal caseload of 10-12 patients daily. This provides patients with individualized care and allows our clinicians to achieve the highest levels of therapeutic alliance with their patients.

We are also proud to say that our company offers stability and security. Many members of our FTG family, from therapists to support staff, have been part of our organization for 10-20+ years.

For more details about the history of our company and six Wyoming locations, visit us on our website at fremonttherapygroup.com and find us on Instagram and Facebook to learn how we give back to our communities.
