The Riverton clinic is a 7,000 square foot facility with a heated therapy pool, 5 private treatment rooms and a large gym facility with state-of-the art therapy equipment. Our therapy pool is maintained at a comfortable 94 degrees and includes an underwater treadmill.
Mitch Johnson - PT, MPT, CHT Clinic Director/Owner
Mitch has been with Fremont Therapy Group, LLC since May 2007, and sees patients in the Lander and Riverton clinics. He has more than a decade of clinical experience in orthopedic physical therapy, and has a special interest in working with patients whose upper extremities have been affected by an accident, trauma, or disease. In 2011, Mitch earned his Certified Hand Therapy certification by the nationally recognized Hand Therapy Certification Commission. As a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), he specializes in treatment of the upper extremity and has achieved the highest level of competency in the profession. Through continual education and training, Mitch remains knowledgeable about preventive care, current surgical techniques, post-surgery therapy programs, and fabrication of custom splints.
Mitch holds a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Utah and his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degree from Brigham Young University.
Mitch married Lander native, Jillyn Johnstone in 2005. They live in Lander with their three beautiful daughters and are active in caring for their backyard chickens, exploring Sinks Canyon and serving the community through their church.
Whittney Gomendi-Smith - PT, DPT
Whittney was inspired to pursue a career in physical therapy because it combined her two biggest passions in life: sports and helping others reach their potential. Whittney’s skill, dedication, and compassion inspire her patients to meet their personal goals and get back to life’s activities following surgery or an injury. She enjoys working in diverse areas of physical therapy and has special interests in sports medicine, manual therapy, and women’s health. Whittney also has advanced training in dry needling as an additional tool to help her patients regain function.
Whittney earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. She also studied at the University of Wyoming, played volleyball at Central Wyoming College and is a Wind River High School graduate.
Whittney enjoys being active outside of her work and loves to travel and spend time with her family.
Kati Quayle - PT, DPT, CLT
Kati pursued a career in physical therapy to fulfill her love for helping people return to doing the things they love most and live life to the fullest. She strongly believes in developing personalized treatment plans that put her patients first and make their goals a priority. Kati was born and raised in Riverton, and enjoys working in our diverse rural community because it allows her to utilize and enhance all aspects of her physical therapy skills. Kati has special interest in a variety of specialty skills, including dry needling, lymphedema management, sports rehabilitation and geriatric therapy.
Kati received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Utah and her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Studies from Boise State University. She played volleyball, basketball, and soccer at Riverton High School and continued her basketball career at Western Wyoming College.
Kati continues to be active in sports, and enjoys running, hiking, and the outdoors. She is passionate about traveling and loves to spend time with her family and friends.
Justin Willis – PT, DPT, ATC, CMTPT, TPS
Justin has always had an interest in the human body and its incredible ability to function and adapt in varied conditions. This fascination with anatomy combined with a love of exercise and athletic activity, inspired Justin to pursue a career in physical therapy. One of Justin’s favorite parts of physical therapy is the wide range of injuries and cases that he gets to see, but he has a particular interest in manual therapy, treatment of the spine, pain science, and sports medicine. Justin strives to create a personalized, research driven plan of care for each patient. His aim is to make sure each plan meets each individual’s needs and personal goals. Justin also holds advanced certification in dry needling.
Justin received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Idaho State University, and his Bachelor of Athletic Training degree from Brigham Young University. Expanding on his DPT, Justin recently earned the esteemed Therapeutic Pain Specialist certification (TPS) through Evidence in Motion and International Spine & Pain Institute with Purdue University. TPS is the highest clinical competency of evaluation and treatment of pain that a practitioner can earn. Justin uses these valuable Pain Neuroscience Education skills to help patients conquer pain and teach therapeutic strategies to take control of their discomfort.
In his free time, Justin enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. Justin particularly loves spending time outdoors hiking, barbequing, and staying active.
Katelin Tucker – PT, DPT, Cert. MDT
Beginning her career at a large Minneapolis healthcare system, Katelin brings vast patient care experience to FTG. She enjoys treating various patient conditions, with a special interest in spine related issues and rehabilitating athletes. Katelin was an active highschool athlete with her share of injuries--this passion for sports is what ultimately led her to a career in physical therapy.
Katelin received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of North Dakota. Most recently, Katelin earned certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), aka the McKenzie Method. MDT is one of the most commonly used treatment approaches around the world. MDT is a reliable and well-researched assessment for all musculoskeletal issues (back, neck, extremities as well as related issues).This exercise-based treatment approach, focuses on specific exercises to treat the areas of patient pain. She has seen significant improvement in outcomes with patients since she began using the MDT approach.
Katelin was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN and relocated to Wyoming upon marriage. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three dogs, two horses, and pack burrows. They find joy in traveling, canoeing at her family cabin in Minnesota, hiking, and outdoor activities.
Todd Comstock – PTA, BA, CFCE, CWS
Todd joined Fremont Therapy Group after spending 21 years treating patients in the Big Piney, Wyoming region. He treated patients in Big Piney, Marbleton, Pinedale, and LaBarge in out-patient, school, and home environments. His main locale, however, was the Proactive clinic in Marbleton (Big Piney) which he managed for the majority of his years in the community. Providing PT in these rural towns, Todd brings with him experience working with patients of all ages across a broad spectrum of clinical environments. He particularly enjoys orthopedics and has advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy, is highly trained in wound care management. Being a member of communities based almost solely on the oil and gas industries, he is also certified in Functional Capacity Evaluations for those re-entering the work force following injury.
Todd earned his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from the University of Colorado and his Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Central Wyoming College.
Todd, along with his wife, Kari, and their three children: Emma, Grace, and Oliver, resides in Lander. When he isn't working, you will find him enjoying time with his family, fly-fishing, skiing, hiking/backpacking, or playing tennis.
Rachael Medow - Physical Therapy Assistant
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, Rachael works alongside our Physical Therapists to treat various types of orthopedic cases utilizing therapeutic exercise and manual therapies. She counts neuromuscular pathologies, working with athletes for return to sport, GMI and its use for chronic pain, aquatic therapy, and creating a fun environment for patients as her areas of interest.
Rachael earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, however after working as a physical therapy technician, found her true passion for PT. She recently completed her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from Laramie County Community College. She truly enjoys helping people and loves watching them achieve their goals. In her PTA career, Rachael thrives in meeting many different people, hearing their stories, and building connections with her patients.
A Riverton native, Rachael spends her free time lifting weights, watching all types of athletic events, and walking her rescue dog, Theo. She also has competed in bodybuilding shows and is certified in Aerial Yoga.
Cassey Lynn - Physical Therapy Tech
Cassey Lynn is a Physical Therapy Technician in the Riverton clinic. Patients love her kind manner as she assists with their prescribed care. In the clinic you will find Cassey helping patients with their rehabilitation, ensuring their time is comfortable and productive. She also takes pride in maintaining clinic supplies and equipment.
Cassey was born and raised in Hendersonville, TN. She earned her Bachelor Degree of Exercise Physiology from East Tennessee State University and has several years experience as a Physical Therapy Technician. She is certified by RockTape in Functional Movement Tape for both performance and basic function.
She and her husband Henry are recent Riverton transplants from Jacksonville, NC. They are excited to begin exploring the natural wonders of Wyoming and are proud to now call the wild west home.
Jorden James - Physical Therapy Technician
Jorden takes pride in personalized patient care in his role as Physical Therapy Technician. He works closely with the physical therapists to help each patient feel comfortable and attended to during treatment. Jorden has a passion for helping others improve their quality of life without pain or functional limitations. His goal is to help everyone understand the benefits of a healthy and active lifestyle and get the most benefit out of their physical therapy experience.
Jorden is currently a senior at the University of Wyoming, studying to earn his Bachelor of Kinesiology. He has extensive experience with exercise physiology labs, including body composition testing, power testing and researching the metabolic effects of exercise. Jorden enjoys helping rehabilitate injuries and taking that recovery even further to help strengthen the body to prevent future injuries.
A Riverton native, Jorden spends his free time in fishing, hiking, and hunting. With a passion for athletics, Jorden also referees basketball during the winter months and enjoys seeing the athletes improve their skills throughout the season.
Darce Watson - Patient Care Coordinator
Darce is the administrative lead for the Riverton office. She is a people-person, and enjoys greeting patients and guests as they come through the door. Her kindness and humor are a favorite of patients and co-workers. Darce ensures patients are taken care of from their first appointment to their last.
Darce brings over a decade of experience working in the office and public service settings. Her organizational and interpersonal skills help keep the clinic in smooth working order.
Darce and her husband Dan, both Riverton natives, raised their three children, Derek, Tyler and Taren in the community, and they continue to enjoy a growing number of grandchildren in the area. Darce thrives in the outdoors, including four-wheeling and water sports, especially when it involves extended family.
